TECH: Labondo Discovery Hub trains children at Robotics Boot Camp
Labondo Discovery Hub organised recently Tech Bootcamp for
children between the ages of 8 and 16, Themed “Codellenium” in the
sunny capital city of Yola.
The aim of the training was to improve their technological knowledge and
enhance their learning skills, in the light of the current global digital
revolution. The kids learnt about Programming, Artificial Intelligence (AI),
Robotics and Life Skills, to boost their creativity, communication and
collaboration skills.
During the 3 weeks intensive bootcamp, participants programmed calculators using Python. They also
programmed drones, with the Unity Game Engine, built their first
robotic cars produced their own games, digital stories and built a Smart City . At the end of the Bootcamp, the kids received a certificate of
participation in the training.
speaking at the end of the programme, Julius
Mbidomti, Founder of Labondo Discovery Hub , said the initiative projects the
brand’s essence,
“The idea is to create an
enabling environment where people come and learn the latest trends in computer programing, robotics and the rest of
them but we discovered also that there is a gap in what was happening in
schools, especially at the primary level and we felt it were able to grap this
kids at this level and introduce them to this concept its very easy foe them to
catch up and be able to be players at the global level.”
Parents who attended the induction
ceremony applauded the efforts of the management of the hub and promised to
send their children for further training after testifying the speed in learning
of their wards in the Labondo Discovery Hub.
Codellenium is a platform aimed at preparing children for the
future that at hand. The trainers aim to give children the opportunity to stand
tall in their chosen field of endeavours
