National Population Commission holds Town-Hall meeting ahead of 2017 Census

The National Population Commission, NPC, has partnered with the Adamawa State Government , and the Technical Assistance of the State Ministry of Information to organize a town hall meeting on Phase 2 of Enumeration Area  Demarcation.

While Coordinating the meeting, The Adamawa state Commissioner for Information, Ahmad Sajo said the meeting was necessary in order to ensure full sensitization and participation of the citizenry of the state.
Also speaking, the National Commission for National Population Commission, John Kennedy said that processing information in 2017 census or survey consists of three main areas – data capture, data validation, data dissemination. As well as the use of new technology.
The NPC Commissioner also stated that Adamawa State has selected Yola-North Local Government as the Sample Local Government to be used for the census test survey as mandated by the commission. Saying each state is obligated to carry out a sample survey in one local Government of the state.

Questions were thrown in by representatives of various work groups who were invited and corresponding answers given by the National Population Commission representative.
Special Guest at the Event was the Deputy Governor of Adamawa State. ENgr. Martins Babale who expressed his delight at the new innovation of involving the populace and assured the Commission of complete support from the state Government under the leadership of Senator Umaru Jubrilla
