Shooting Of Two Persons Riding Motorcycle in Shelleng LG by Police, Adamawa Assembly To Investigate

Culled from Leadership online
The Adamawa House of Assembly has mandated its Committee on Security to investigate the alleged shooting of two persons by the Police in Shelleng Local Government Area for violating the ban on motorcycles in the state.

The decision followed a motion of “Urgent Public Importance” moved by Malam Abubakar Isa (APC- Shelleng), over the alleged shooting of two people in his constituency for riding motorcycle.

Isa, in the plenary, told the house that two people were shot by the police in Shelleng for riding motorcycle.

The legislator, who called for investigation into the incident, said the victims were now receiving treatment at the hospital.

After contributions from members, the Speaker, Kabiru Mijinyawa, assigned the Committee on Security to investigate the matter and report to the house in two weeks.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that the Military in Adamawa had in August announced a total ban on the use of motorcycles across the state for security reasons.(NAN)
