The Theater Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, General Yushau
Muhammed Abubakar, arrived the city of Mubi today via helicopter in company of the 23 Armoured Brigade Commander, Col.
Aba Popoola. The arrival was a strategic support tactic towards boosting the
morale of the Nigerian troops as well as creating awareness of the Civilian
Military Cooperation Programme (CIMIC).
After a brief address, The General presented sets of books and other Academic Materials on behalf of the Nigerian Army to the representative of the Emir of Mubi in person
of the Sardauna of Mubi as an encouragement towards reopening of schools in Mubi Town.
In a brief interview with the General, He said that in
regards to the 3 month deadline given towards the total wipe out of the Boko
Haram Sect’
“You have seen Yola and Mubi, this was not how they once
were, normalcy has been restored to the city and with the rate at which the
army has made progress, we will completely remove book Haram even before the 3
month deadline”
The Sardauna thanked the General and the army for their role
in eradicating the city of Mubi from the insurgents and also restoring peace to
all the affected states.
