The class of 2017 graduating students from across various disciplines in American University of Nigeria (AUN) Yola, last night had the female students clinching the highest awards in academic excellence, community development and leadership qualities.
The class of 2017 graduating students from across various disciplines in American University of Nigeria (AUN) Yola, last night had the female students clinching the highest awards in academic excellence, community development and leadership qualities.
Over 30 different awards for academic excellence, community development service and leadership qualities were given by the varsity and corporate organizations.
Interestingly, the overall best graduating students in all the schools(faculties) and community and leadership were female students.
Immaculate Onyinye Onuigbo of department of Petroleum Chemistry emerged the overall best graduating student of the class of 2017 and received seven awards and different cash prices for each award from corporate sponsors.
Her awards were best graduating student in Petroleum Chemistry, overall best student of school of arts and sciences, two cooperate awards with a cash prize of N500,000 each and a fully paid internship in any subsidiary of Afrinvest Limited.
In academic excellence only two male graduating students won best graduating students in Business Administration and Telecommunications and Wireless Technology.
Other female graduating students who received various awards were, Comfort Afolabi, best in Finance and Overall best School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Jamila Abubakar Mohammed, best graduating student in Economics, and Zubaida Sa'ad best in Information Systems and overall best in School of Information Technology and Computing and host of others.
