Hip Hop Sunday, Season 8 highlights + Exclusive Photos

Hip Hop Sunday one of the most anticipated gospel events of all time in North east Nigeria, hosted by House of Refuge international has become a monumental event that has just gotten better with each year. The crowd keeps in creasing and this year as no exception. A young man said "the event was slated or 8 am but when i arrived by 7:45am i could not find a place to sit because the auditorium, over flow and outer seating was full!"

The event which is in its 8th year has continued to bring you from all over the city and neighbouring states and as far as Pleasteau state to come together to celebrate One God with One Sound on One stage.
Now lets do a quick review of all that happened in the event. I iw ll be pickinga few talents hwo performed and pleae note these are just my personal oipions.

Big DelyMo
Popularly known as the "Shatan Yorubawa' i must say that he has come a long way from his last HHS performance. The follow Follow crooner took a different turn from the usual gyration and dance themed signature of his to do a rather solemn rendition of "Vanity" from his soon to be released album Letter to Oladele coming up on the 8th of May.

Gben
Fast rising Music Producer and protege to Famed former Adamawa based producer Tklex, Gben made is debut appearance on the HHS stage this year. It was rather quick to pass but for a first timer he caught on with the crowd.

Refuge Kid
Oh My goodness how time flies. These were the adorable kids who have stolen my heart from day one. Now they are all grown. and my questions was "Where did all the y boys go to on that day? but still yet the never failed to capture our hearts once again

Zino
House of Refuge's in house Gospel Rapper masterfully ensured that he owned the stage. From the entry of his two body guards who wore brand tshirs saying Shut up You be God? you would thing it was a Kanye West Prodigy performance. ZIno threw the crowd into a frenzy with his power packed and lyrically addictive song 'Shut up You be God?"

Shabach Tribe
I just have one question. Can this choir ever get it wrong?  i mean Shabach Tribe ine one choir that lets you anticipate what next they are going to do. Its never a dull moment and HHS* showed a new side of the, i see them as the Spartan 300 army, A small but highly effective force of change through music.

Extreme Soldiers.
The Jos based all man dance crew thrilled us like last year, with introductions of new dance moves that have set the trened in 2016. Despite the fact that one if the members of the crew was under the weather, he still went upstage and dusted off the pains as he joined his brotehr s in arms on stage.

Bone Breakers
For what its worth these guys have given the best come back ever. for two years the Spirit of sound never seems to be on their side as each performance has a technical difficulty that interrupts the sound but this year they were ready for war and boy did they battle for it. Despite hitches they restarted and won the hearts of the viewers instantly.

Greal
When he first came from Jos last year with a simple long sleeve, pair of faded jeans and sneakers and rather scattered hair, i almost left the hall until i heard him perform "Christ in my head and my chest" This year he was welcomed with a thunderous applause and even more was the ovation when we announced a retake of his signature song again. Every one including the Host pastor Biyasa Abraham and His assistant Pastor Barry were thrown into some rather smooth drunken master moves as they portrayed the filling of Christ in their head and their chest (I must confess i was also thrown into the same fit)

Sesugh & Millie (Hosts)
As the Individual with the highest amount of hosting privileges to HHS, He has consistently continued to dazzle us with rib cracking lines and humorous intros that always keeps the event on ice. Sesugh is the Hos with the Most. this time around he worked together with Online Media Celebrity Millie Hapsa. The duo did Justice to HHS8, believe me if you didn't like the song or dance you are sure to love the jokes.

The Eagles

The Eagles
Who would ever forget the daring Angels of Dance who have serenaded the stage with a myriad of dance genres from Ballet, Alanta, hip hop, popping and locking, groove as well as death defying stunts that were formerly just for the men. This year the eagles in my opinion slowed the pace to give from for some soulful dance performance that kept every one wanting more.

Pastor Biyasa Abraham & Pastor Barry Shaida
As the Vision bearer of the Ministry, he has consistently continued to stay focused on the reason why the event was first established. amidst the screams, the youthful energy, the fashion craze, You can not help but be drawn to the reality of the message he brings. Hip Hop Sunday to members of the ministry is more than a concert , its an evangelical outreach that sets the youth on the path of hope righteousness and salvation and Pastor Biyasa and Pastor Barry have always ensured that. Need i forget that Pastor Barry showed us a few dance moves that would remain unforgettable at the end of the event.
