The Adamawa state police command, last night gunned down
three armed robbers who have been terrorizing people in Mayo-Belwa Local
Government Area and Zuma in Song Local government Area of Adamawa State
8 AK-47 rifles, 1 Machine gun, 14 Magazines and several rounds
of ammunition were recovered from the robbers. Also recovered from the robbers
were Nigerian and foreign currency notes from Central African Republic.
Speaking to journalist at the Police Headquarters in Yola,
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Othman Abubakar says the nabbing of
these robbers is as a result of a combined effort between the command and the
popular Alhaji Ali Kwara who assisted the police in tracking the criminals
In another development, the Nigeria Police in collaboration
with Ali Kwora were able to arrest a group of kidnappers who two weeks ago
kidnapped three sons of one Alhaji Grema of Mayo Ranehu village in Hong Local
Government Area of Adamawa State.
Alhaji Germa paid a ransom of #1m out of the #2m demanded by
the kidnappers. He was in the process of giving them another five hundred thousand
naira when the police intercepted and arrested the criminals. The Five hundred
thousand was recovered and the kidnappers arrested. The recovered amount was
returned to Alhaji Germa while the kidnappers are in police custody and will
soon be charged to court
