Contrary to widespread rumors making the rounds, the explosion that was heard at 8pm today within the Jimeta Metropolis was not a bomb explosion but rather a gas cylinder that exploded as a result of excessive pressure after the cylinder rolled down from an opening from the shop of a vulcanizer at Mubi round about opposite Bornoma house. Security operatives have cleared the area. All is now at rest.
