Adamawa NUJ elects new officers

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Adamawa State Council, has elected new officials to handle the leadership affairs of the Union for three consecutive years in the state.

During the state triennial delegates conference conducted on Saturday, saw the emergence of Comrade Salihu Abubakar of Adamawa State Television Yola (ATV) as Chairman, while Alhaji Umar Dankano of the Peoples Daily Newspaper was elected as Vice Chairman.

Others that were elected included: Zare Baba of the Adamawa Press Limited (APL), Alhaji Shekarau yerima of Gotel Radio Yola and Madam Tina Valdo of the Adamawa Television Yola (ATV) who were returned unopposed as state secretary, financial Secretary and state Auditor respectively.

However, Mary Adamu of NTA Yola polled 83 votes to emerged as the council’s Treasurer defeating her two contendants; Mallam Isah Tukur of Adamawa Broadcasting Cooperation (ABC) Yola, who scored 67 votes while Mr. Anthony Taru of state ministry of information chapel who got 12 votes.
