Gov. Umaru Jibrilla launches Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem (Photos)
Adamawa state Governor Umaru Jibrilla spoke at the Government House, Yola today while launching the 2016 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem Appeal about how we should recognize the efforts of the Nigerian armed forces.
He was welcomed by a troop of Nigerian Legion Members who comprised of ex-service men. He then proceeded to inspect the Guard of Honour.
He talked about the need for all citizens to appreciate the fallen heroes through donations for the welfare and upkeep of the families they left behind, especially their widows and children.
The Governor said that the appreciation was necessary especially at this period that the nation is faced with the challenges of terrorism and insurgency in certain parts of the country.
The Governor then moved on to Make a donation of #5 Million on behalf of the state Government while he made a personal donation of #500, 000 on himself and his family
The Deputy Governor Engr. Martins Babale followed suite with a personal donation of #300, 000.
Other service Chiefs Heads of Parastatals, Government Executives and Legislators also made donations amounting to over #7 Million Naira to the Nigeria Legion, Adamawa State Chapter.
