Veteran Nigerian actress and director Joke Silva who happens to be one of my favourite screen queens lolz is in Yola Adamawa State. Yep. she is here to serve as a celebrity judge in the 2015 Hulz Prize Campus edition.
So here is a little brief about the Hult prize (if you were as quizzed as me)
The Hult Prize Foundation is a start-up accelerator for budding young social entrepreneurs emerging from the world’s universities. Named as one of the top five ideas changing the world by President Bill Clinton and TIME Magazine, the annual competition for the Hult Prize aims to create and launch the most compelling social business ideas—start-up enterprises that tackle grave issues faced by billions of people. Winners receive USD1 Million in seed capital, as well as mentorship and advice from the international business community.
Open to universities, colleges and students on every continent, the Hult Prize has grown to become the world’s largest student movement for social good. It is also the largest student competition on the planet with over 20,000 applicants per year and is the world’s largest crowd-sourcing platform generating over 2.4 million man hours of problem solving each year. Participating annually are thousands of students from 130 countries, representing over 600 institutions of higher education. Competing schools included Stanford, Harvard, INSEAD, Hult International Business School, NYU, Columbia, American University Beirut, LBS, Hitotsubashi, KAUST and others. Nearly all of the Financial Times’ Top 100 MBA programs participate.
AUN is holding the rand event today and the start actress will serve as one of the judges...more like a celebrity judge. Photos coming soon.
