At least 10 suspected Boko Haram insurgents have been arrested by the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corp in Adamawa state, the Public Relations Officer of the organization, Abdullahi Musa said.
Mr. Musa said nine of the suspected Boko Haram insurgents were arrested in Fufoure Local Government of the state while one was arrested in Mubi local government.
The PRO further stated that the arrests followed an increase in surveillance across the camps of Internally Displaced Persons in the state after the bomb blast that took place last Friday at the Malkohi IDP camp in the state capital.
He said his organisation embarked on a thorough screening of the IDPs and asked IDPs deported from Cameroon Republic to identify each. The activity led the identification of nine infiltrators in Fufore camp, the PRO state.
Mr. Musa added that the interrogation of the nine suspects led to the arrest of another one in Mubi.
He said the NSCDC has a good working relationship with sister security organizations as well as the humanitarian workers.
Mr. Musa called on the public not to hesitate in reporting suspicious movements and persons to the security agencies.
