Former APC National Women Leader, Barriser Sharon Ikeazor makes donation to Yola IDP Camp

As the IDP camps in adamawa state continue to receive visitors with relief materials, one organization is providing another form of relief for the internally displaced persons by ensuring independence of women who have lost their husbands and those who can assist their husbands whose livelihood has been affected by insurgency

WAKILIYAN MATA EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE is a non-governmental organization committed to the independence  of women financially or otherwise  by establishing a revolving loan for women.

The organization was at the IDP camp last week in Yola where 200 women are to benefit from the facility which will be expanded in addition to training to be provided for skills acquisition..about 50 women are benefiting from the first phase of the programme.

The wakiliyan mata empowerment initiative is the brain child of Barrister Sharon Ikeazor, the national women leader of the defunct CPC and was the interim national women leader of the APC and now a member of the APC board of trustees. While speaking to the women at the camp said the project is her personal initiative ad that the money given to them is not free but it will help them to leave the camp as better people
