Former Head of State, Abdusalam Abubakar arrives Yola ahead of Peace Conference



The Former Head of State, General Abdulsalam Abubakar arrived Yola, the capital of Adamawa State ahead of his lecture which he is to deliver at the Modibbo Adama University of Technology Yola tommrow. below isa press release by the Special Assistant to the Governor of Press & media Matters

His Excellency the executive Governor of Adamawa State, Senator Muhammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow received the former Head of state General Abdulsalam Abubakar ahead of the Regional conference on Peacebuilding and reconstruction in the Chad Basin holding from the 26th - 28th of September, 2016 which Governor Bindow will declare open.
The former head of state was hosted to a session of presentation of the achievements of the administration of the state governor since assuming office.
The presentation was delivered by the secretary to the state government, Dr. Bindir.
Governor Bindow welcomed the former head of state and thanked him for supporting his government and for visiting the state.
Responding the former Head of state, appreciated the elaborate presentation by the SSG, he asserted that his knowledge of Bindow over the years has proved his sincerity and commitment to doing good works even before he became Governor, he reiterated that Bindow is making a mark in Adamawa state and he has confidence that Bindow will do more in advancing the state to greater heights.
Abdulsalam called on all Adamawa indigenes to contribute their quota in the development of the state he added that roads open up so many economic activities and called for maintenance of the infrastructure provided by the users. He cautioned Nigerians to refrain from vandalizing infrastructure provided by government, he termed them as economic saboteurs.
He ended by congratulating Bindow for his good works and expressed shock that people are accusing the Governor of using bullet proof cars and said he rode in the same car with Bindow on his visit twice but have not seen any bullet proof car. He called on the media to verify their stories before going to press. General Abdulsalam also called for synergy between officials of the a government of governor Bindow so as to enhance efficiency and quick delivery of the programs of government. He emphasized that we must all promote peace without which there will not be development and growth.
